New Item in Platform Solution Selection: Backend AI Logs 7,000 Queries in Nine Weeks

On September 30, content aggregation platform St8 delivered a set of focus group data: from July 19 to September 18, over nine weeks, participating operator teams initiated more than 7,000 queries and operations through the backend AI assistant. This assistant runs on the MCP protocol, connecting large models like ChatGPT to the platform backend — pulling reports, verifying configurations, and checking game and supplier information all become a one-sentence task. When St8 launched MCP in July this year, its message was direct: let operations staff spend less time switching between multiple backend systems. This batch of data follows focus group methodology, and St8 itself notes it cannot yet represent industry-wide adoption speed, but the direction is visible.

There are several details in the numbers. The first week saw 490 queries, rising to 762 in the week of September 6, a 55% increase. The peak appeared in the week of August 2 — 2,679 queries in a single week, for a simple reason: everyone was pulling monthly reports and invoice data in a concentrated burst. Usage dipped on weekends and rose again on Mondays, showing it has entered the workday rhythm rather than being a novelty tried once and abandoned. Whether a tool is good depends on whether people come back to use it. St8 CEO Vlad Negine put it plainly: the focus group provided an early checklist, and report pulling and configuration verification are the two things operations teams are most willing to hand over to AI.

For teams building white-label platform solutions or selecting a platform solution, this data is worth noting: whether the backend can connect to AI is becoming a tangible selection criterion. The questions are also specific — whether the backend opens interfaces, how permissions are controlled, and whether connecting your own AI assistant requires secondary development. St8's approach is to open only a set of read-only operations, following the company, operator, and site three-tier permission structure, so what the AI can see matches what people can see, without loosening anything just because an AI is added. Beyond old items like gaming API integration, backend AI readiness should also be on the checklist. For those who want to see it live, from September 29 to October 1, there will be an on-site demonstration at booth C318 at the SBC Lisbon Summit.
